Post-Op Day #4

So a not so quick update of what has happened today. Peyton was weighed and has lost 0.1 kilos. Not something that is a concern but information we wanted to share. He had his daily chest x-rays this morning and everything looked good. He got to ride in his first wheelchair and cried the entire time. The IV team came in early this morning and put in a new foot IV. He is not a fan of being poked.

Peyton's doctor came in this morning at 8:45AM and removed his chest tubes. He cried every time they removed one. He did really well and is a much happier kid. He got to ride in a wagon without any tubes or lines(only oxygen). He had a blast! We took him down for an echo and he sat and watched a movie (Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs) and only got upset when they had to move the probe to his neck.

Peyton has a rash on his neck from the tape that they used for one of his lines on his neck that keeps getting worse. We are going to use some new cream to see if we can get it under control.

Lisa brought her kids by to see Peyton and we got some cute pictures. Thanks Lisa, it made his day.

Peyton's nurse just came in and removed the sluggish IV from his hand and now he is down to only one IV! He is much happier and can't wait for Ashley and her friend to come see him tomorrow so he can go play in the toy room.

So there's the not so brief update. If anything else major happens today I'll let you know. Otherwise, you'll hear from us tomorrow and we'll let Peyton get some rest.

We loved coming! He's such a cute little kid and so fun to be around. Love that picture of Alexis, and you can definitely tell what kind of mood tyler was in.

He is doing so great! He's going to be home before you know it, but I'm sure it can't come soon enough for you.
