Fourth of July

We spent the fourth of July in Provo this year.  Montana had to work so he met up with us in the morning for the parade, slept during the day, and was up to watch fireworks with us that evening.  We went to the Provo City parade in the morning.  Shelise and her kids had come down to spend the holiday with Trevor's family so we met up with them for a little bit after the parade.  It was really hot and we didn't want to spend tons of time outside in the heat.  In the evening, we headed to Jon and Kassie Voigt's house for a barbeque dinner and fireworks in their cul-de-sac.  Then we drove to a hill in Provo to watch the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire show at BYU.  It was a long, fun day!

4th of July - Plain City Syle

This year for the 4th of July, we were able to spend it with my family. We definitely missed the beach, the ocean, and Montana's family but we did have a good time! Provo City always has a Balloon Fest for a few days around the 4th. We decided to go on the first day. We got up early (it starts at 6:30AM) and headed to the park. We got to see all but one hot air balloon get blown up and lifted into the sky. The boys had a blast! I never realized how big those balloons were until I was up close and personal. I totally forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures to show for it....you'll just have to trust me! And then on Sunday, after church, we headed to my parent's house. On Monday morning, we headed to the parade route. We left about 30 minutes before the parade started and found a nice place right by the announcing stand. My dad and Trent both drove John Deere tractors in the parade and Eric drove the Mini. Montana walked next to the tractors and threw candy to all the kids. The boys loved seeing Daddy and Grandpa in the parade. We headed over to the city park after the parade to look at the booths. Ashley had a booth and she was selling earrings. She did pretty well for it being in Plain City. My mom gave all of the grandkids a dollar to play a game. Mason picked a duck game and Peyton picked a bean bag toss game. Then we went back to grandma and grandpa's house to relax. Montana headed to the ski lake with my dad and brothers. That night, we did fireworks on the basketball court and then watched the city fireworks at the high school. It was really fun and relaxing! We stayed up way too late playing games while we were there but it was most definitely worth it! (The first few pictures are from the 2nd of July outside our house. We had to do some for the boys and not just for Montana!)
