Arrhh Matey!!!
Mason turned six last Friday and we had a fun filled day! We started out by making egg and bacon biscuits for breakfast. Then we promptly got ready for school and headed that direction. I showed up at school for the last 15 minutes with treats. Mason picked Zingers to take to his class and share. I was able to be there while the kids sang to him and he handed out the Zingers. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed those!
Then we headed home to finish up the cake and cupcakes so they would be ready for Mason's party. Mason celebrating his birthday at my parent's house.
Mason's count down to his birthday. He had this hanging on his bed so he could mark it off every night!
Originally, Mason had told me he wanted a Tarzan party and I searched stuff and really couldn't come up with anything. So, I asked him about a Pirate party and showed him the pirate stuff on Zurchers website. That got him pretty excited and so we went with a pirate theme. I made cupcakes for the kids and a treasure chest cake for Mason and the family.
At the party, we raced "pirate" boats, put together pirate faces, handed out bandannas, went on a treasure hunt, opened presents, ate cupcakes, and played in the attic. The kids had so much fun and it was most definitely a success. The Treasure at the end of the treasure hunt!
Mason picked McDonalds for dinner. We headed over there after his party, ate dinner, and let the kids play for a minute. Then we headed back home for another party. Our neighbor, Devin and his friend Leilani (and her son Isaiah), Jon and Kassie and their boys, and Shelise and Trevor and their kids came for the fun. We ate cake and ice cream, sang happy birthday, and visited while the kids played. Mason was so exhausted by the time his special day was over that he fell asleep on the couch next to me. He had a blast and enjoyed playing with so many people!
