Christmas and Fun

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We got lots of fun things and enjoyed the time we got to spend with family. We celebrated Christmas at our home that morning and then went to my parent's home for the rest of the weekend. And then I sent Montana home and I stayed to play this week! Here's pictures of Christmas. Enjoy!

We had to try out RockBand when we got to my parents...

Before Christmas, we decided we needed to make cookies for Santa. So, we made chocolate chip cookies and then forgot to put them out. That's okay though, they are still getting eaten. I also found a cute recipe in the newspaper for Snow Shovel Cookies so we tried those out too. The boys had fun helping!

And then of course, we had to build a snowman and get pictures of the house at Christmas time with the snow.

And now a story about Peyton...we were at my parent's home on Monday and Peyton was sitting on my lap. He slid off and when he did, his feet slipped out from under him. He hit his head and so I picked him up and started rubbing his head. My mom came over to rub it and realized there was blood. I couldn't look cause it makes me nauseous when I'm pregnant. Turns out, he hit the corner of the baseboard and put a nice hole in his head. Montana wanted to take him in and get him stitches but we consulted with the "Doctors" of the house...aka Mom and Dad. So, Dr. Thayne and Dr. Page went to work shaving part of his head and butterflying his wound back together. Peyton has a nice bandage on his head and has been his typical self ever since. My parent's said that he will probably have a scar but what's one more tiny scar compared to all the other ones on his body?!?

Peyton has a bigger bandage on his head to help against infection but we don't have a picture of that one yet!

Our Tree

Ok, this is a record and it will probably never happen again. I'm posting twice in a day...and within a few hours of each other! We went to a tree farm this evening with Grandma and Grandpa Thayne and we cut down our Christmas trees. So, I had to add the pictures of our adventure! Enjoy!

It's a ...

So in the last post, I told everybody about our big news... Well, that's not all of our big news. We are going to have a new little BOY join our family in April! We are excited...some more than others. I was really hoping for a girl but I have everything for a boy so it will make things easier. So far everything looks great. We had our ultrasound and they spent a good deal of time going over the heart from every different angle. We will not be doing a fetal ECHO because everything looks good. I can't wait until April but I know it will be here sooner than I plan for.

It's been awhile!

I know it's been awhile since we've posted but life has a way of staying really busy. Our big news is that we bought a house! I'm not going to post pictures of it on here or any other information so if you want to know more about it, you can email me personally. We should be moving our stuff into the home on Monday. We've been deep cleaning, finishing hardwood floors, redoing the bathroom...all the fun stuff! We can't wait to actually move in. Everybody is doing well. Peyton had a Cardiology appointment last week and everything continues to look good. He had an ECHO done and he stayed really still because I fed him M&M's through the whole thing. His heart is pumping well and he doesn't have any leaking valves! YAY! We will see the Card again in March and she is thinking surgery around next fall. We had a great Halloween and the boys had so much fun dressing up...three different times. Mason was a Black Panther and Peyton was a cow. That's about it so enjoy the pictures!

Montana's Pheasant

Montana shot this pheasant last December. He was so excited when Melanie agreed to let him have it mounted. It took almost five months to finish and he was finally able to pick it up today.

Quick Update

I know it's been forever since I last posted and I have so many pictures to post but our dial-up internet just takes so long to put pictures on. So, this will have to do for now! And it will be short and sweet. We are all alive and well! Peyton had his Cardiology appointment yesterday and he looks amazing! His sats are in the high 80's and he isn't the least bit blue. We got a lot of encouraging information. Dr. Etheridge is estimating that his next surgery, the Fontan, will be when he is roughly 3 1/2. That means we still have another 1 1/2 years before it will happen! That makes me so happy. The longer we can wait, the better. Peyton goes to see his helmet doctor and the plastic surgeon next Tuesday to make sure his head is still growing the way they want it to. I'm not worried about that appointment at all! Mason turned four in May and I can't believe he is that old already. He also graduated from Preschool in April. We love both of our boys even though some days I just feel like locking myself in my room! My brother left on his mission on Mason's birthday and we are so proud of him for serving the Lord. He will be an awesome missionary and I know the people in Ecuador will love him! If you want to follow his mission blog it's: www.elderthayne.blogspot.com. We are happy and healthy and are looking forward to the many fun trips we have planned for the summer!

Jon Schmidt

I went to a workshop today for piano teachers and the guest was Jon Schmidt. He played an amazing version of Taylor Swift's "Love Song" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". He told us we could find it on YouTube so, of course, I looked it up. Click this link and it will take you to the video. Enjoy! Oh, and pictures and more post to come at a later date when I clean off my camera!
