Feeding 101

Tanner is learning how to eat real food. About 6 weeks ago, I tried giving him rice cereal. He did great with it but I wasn't consistent in feeding him the cereal. Lately he's been waking up in the middle of the night again and wanting to eat. The binki won't soothe him enough to fall back asleep. So, I figured he probably needed something a little more than just milk during the day. I gave him rice cereal the other day and he spit it out. Today I decided to mix bananas in his rice cereal and he couldn't get enough of it. I hollered at Mason to hurry and get the camera to take some pictures. Mason took about 10 pictures in about 2 minutes. Tanner had cereal all over his face but he LOVED it. He's even figuring out how to swallow the food. Hopefully I can be better about feeding him and we'll see how well he sleeps tonight! (He also fell off the couch tonight so I guess I've got to start keeping a better eye on him!)

We should probably pull out the high chair!

We went and picked apples the other day and a friend and I canned applesauce and apple pie filling. I've got to stop canning cause I'm running out of room in my food storage room. It's a great feeling! Here's all the apples we picked. I gave about half of them away!

I have made the decision NOT to can anything this year! Good for you.

Hooray for Tanner! I hate the rice cereal phase, hope he moves on fast!

ok, I'm jelous! I haven't canned since we moved from Camp Verde, so it's been a year and I'm running out of everything!!!
(I guess, at least now I know that what I canned will last us a year.)
