After dinner, we headed up to The Wishing Place in Murray. It is such a cool place. In the entryway, they had a sign just for Peyton.
Then they talked to us about the building. Along the ceiling, they have a bunch of stars. All of these stars are from other children, like Peyton.
Either before or after the wish takes place, Make-A-Wish holds a party for the wish kid and their family and friends. At this party, the wish kid gets to decorate their star and raise it up with the other stars.
Then all of us got a wish token and we headed to the wish pond.....except it was out of commission.....so we got to make a wish and throw our token into the river from the bridge.
I didn't throw mine since I want to scrapbook it for Peyton! We went back inside and they showed us the wall of pictures. All of the pictures are of the children that are currently in the process of having their wishes granted. We even saw some of our fellow heart kiddos!
We headed upstairs to begin Peyton's wish process. We sat around and the wish granters asked Peyton lots of questions about himself.
Then they gave him a bag of stuff. He got a football, a frisbee, a hat, a shirt, books, a bracelet, and other stuff. The adults and Mason all wrote down wishes for Peyton. Then I helped him write down his wish.
We rolled it up and put it into a canister type thing.
Peyton took his key and headed to the wishing room.
Only wish kids have a key to this room and they can come back and visit the room whenever they would like to. We walked in and everybody told them their wishes for Peyton. Peyton then had to follow the lights on the ground. They stopped in front of an upside down triangle and put Peyton's wish in that. Then they took the triangle and followed the lights again around to the front where he put the triangle part on top of the base. This created the wizard's hat. The lights went crazy and there was music and then the wish granters told Peyton that the wizard had his wish.
So, now we wait to see if the wizard will grant his wish. We went down to the party room and ate cookies while Montana and I signed the paperwork. The kids ran around and played with the wish granters and had a great time.
It was such a neat experience and we feel so privileged to be a part of this great organization!
