Easter 2013

This year, we celebrated at home.  It was Tanner's birthday but we didn't celebrate that until the next day.  The kids loved their baskets and all the fun things the Easter Bunny brought them.  The Easter Bunny hid eggs in the backyard and the boys had a blast finding them.  Then it was off to church!  We came home, relaxed, and then had a nice ham dinner with a couple in the ward (the Shearers) and Eric.  It was a great day!

Naptime

Naptime is my most favorite part of the day...especially when Austin and Tanner nap at the same time.  Tanner wanted to take a nap in his "big boy bed" one afternoon.  So, we let him!

And he did awesome!  The next day he wanted to do it again so we let him.  Except this time he continued to get out of bed and play.  So, back in the crib he went.  One day he will stay in the bed but not today!  And Austin is still in the bassinet so I don't need the crib quite yet.  We were also able to get rid of binky!  Tanner has done so well without it for naps and bedtime.  I just worry about what will happen when Sunday comes around and he doesn't get it for Nursery.  Hopefully he won't think twice about it and do just fine.  Only time will tell...

Eggs

Every year we let the kids dye eggs for Easter.  And this year was no exception.  They had so much fun!  And they did a really great job.  We also talked about the resurrection while doing this activity.  I can't believe how smart the boys are.  They knew every answer to every question that we asked them.  I really couldn't ask for better kids!

When the egg dying was over, Tanner went into his room and shut the door.  Somehow the door got locked.  We have lived here for 3 1/2 years and I didn't know the door even locked!  We couldn't unpick the lock.  So, Montana finally just busted the door open.  Needless to say, it won't be getting locked again any time soon.  And now we need to replace a door!

St. Patrick's Day

This year, the leprechaun made an appearance at our house!  He turned furniture upside down, made a mess of books and movies, and left golden treasures everywhere he went.  When the boys woke up, they couldn't believe what the leprechaun had done.  He also left a basket of goodies and Lucky Charms for breakfast.  And he turned the milk green!

For dinner we had pesto and noodles, green fruit salad with green Cool Whip, and green Sprite with mint chocolate chip ice cream in green cones for dessert.  I would most definitely call our day a success!

2 Months

I still can’t believe that Austin is growing this fast.  I feel like I just had him!  He’s cute and starting to smile.  He sleeps well and doesn’t cry too much!  He’s so fun to have around!  His brothers love him lots and always want to hold him, kiss him, and be by him.  (And Tanner’s almost three!)

Park City and Ortho Doctor

Peyton had a doctor’s appointment at Primarys so we decided to take everybody and head to Park City afterwards.  There is a Lego exhibit at the Kimball Art Center right now.  There were only a handful of lego creations but they were so cool.  I put Mason in charge of the camera and I think he took a picture of every single creation!  After the exhibit, we walked down Main Street and found an ice cream shop.  It was fun just doing something with the kids!

So, Peyton’s doctor’s appointment…  It was with an Orthopedic specialist at PCMC.  Back in October, we realized that Peyton’s hips didn’t line up with each other.  He also has a leg and a foot that are longer and bigger than the other side.  We took him to the pediatrician and he referred us to an Ortho specialist.  We finally got in to see the specialist.  They took x-rays of Peyton’s legs and hips.  Then we talked with the doctor.  If we didn’t do anything for this discrepancy, Peyton would have about an inch difference in the length of his legs by the time he stops growing.  So, they want to put screws into Peyton’s knee on the long leg to slow down that growth.  We will go back in to the doctor around Peyton’s 7th birthday and reevaluate before we do anything.  There is always something new with Peyton!  He likes to keep us on our toes!

Austin’s Blessing Day

Montana gave Austin his name and blessing on the 3rd of March.  We had all of my family at church with us as well as a few friends.  It was wonderful and beautiful.  After church, we had lunch at our house.  The weather was supposed to be nice and then it decided to rain instead.  So, we had tons of people in our small house!  It was crazy but we had yummy food and good company.  We were grateful to everybody that was able to come and spend the day with us!
